The self-help center says the court might require separating parents to attend the seminar, “sometimes called the ‘COPE’ class,” and that the judge’s staff can direct you to the provider they prefer if your judge has ordered it.

The certificate and how to file it
The provider gives you a certificate of completion; filing it with the Clerk of the Court is your responsibility. The court’s flyer says self-represented parents can file in person at the Family Courts & Services Center, 601 N. Pecos, Las Vegas (free e-file workstations), or online through the court’s e-filing site (a scanner is needed and there is a fee). File within 45 days of the order.
Confirm your court accepts COPE Class (Seminar for Separating Parents)
- Check your order. Under the current rule the seminar is ordered case by case, and the 45-day filing clock runs from the order directing completion.
- Use a Family Division-approved provider. The provider list on the court’s flyer dates to 2020, so ask your judge’s staff which providers are currently accepted before you pay.
- A class approved in another Nevada county or another state is not automatically the Clark County seminar.
